Michael Bay’s Iran film is…..

With Trump’s Iran war limping on far beyond his predicted two weeks there’s news already of a Hollywood movie with the news of Michael Bay’s Iran film. His film will recount the behind the scenes story of the recent rescue mission to save two downed pilots behind enemy lines in Iran and will be based on the upcoming book by Mitchell Zuckoff that will be published in 2027.

The story….

The story caught the eye of Bay when he was searching for his next project and is still recent enough to be in most people’s memories where, after only a month after Trump triggered Operation Epic Fury began, the U.S. military launched a massive, successful rescue operation in the Zagros Mountains of Iran when the pilot’s jet was shot down. What followed was a hunt both by Iran for US hostages to parade on TV and the US executing a hugely impressive extraction that successfully recovered the pilot as well as the weapons system officer from Iran’s military forces behind enemy lines. The story made international  headlines.

Bay and US military colab…

Bay has a deal with Universal studios as well an extensive 30 years history of working with the US military in various capacity on his films that have included The RockBad Boys and Armageddon, Transformers and of course, Pearl Harbor all of which benefitted from US military leadership and their logistical support, equipment and personnel to ensure accurate portrayals of the U.S. Armed Forces.

About Michael Bay’s Iran film the director said, ‘“I’ve had an amazing partnership over my 30-year career working with the Department of War and amazing U.S. military members. In my film 13 Hours, no rescue force answered the call for help. This film is about everyone who answered the call in one of the most complex, intricate and high-stakes operations in recent history. It celebrates the true heroism and unwavering dedication of our service members.”
