The last big budget film we remember about a man and his loyal dog was 2020’s Call of the Wild with Harrison Ford which bombed. The Heart of the Beast looks a far better bet starring as it does Brad Pitt in what looks exciting and we’re pretty sure will be an emotional ending in what will be a world away from the Paw Patrol films that do huge business with younger audiences
After a harrowing plane crash, Special Forces officer James Belmont (Brad Pitt) and his combat dog, Odin, find themselves stranded deep in the Alaskan wilderness. Together, they are forced into a brutal fight for survival against the elements. From acclaimed filmmaker David Ayer, Heart of the Beast is an intense adventure thriller that explores the unbreakable bond between a man and his best friend as they face their greatest battle yet.
The film is written by Cameron Alexander who is best known for directing music videos and the screenplay was featured on the 2017 Blacklist and was finally brought to the screen by Damien Chazelle and Olivia Hamilton’s production company, Wild Chickens Productions. Heart of the Beast is directed by David Ayer who has proved adept with actioners and has worked with Pitt before on the 2014 film, ‘Fury’. With Pitt front and centre the film co-stars the ever reliable J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe.
