The Odyssey trailer in full…..

With an Oscar to his name for Oppenheimer director Christopher Nolan (or Sir Christopher Nolan as he now is) returns with his latest blockbuster and a first full look with the release of The Odyssey trailer.

The story …

The film tells the story of Odysseus, King of Ithaca, and his perilous journey home after the Trojan War, exploring themes of heroism, loyalty, cunning, and the struggle against divine will. It includes iconic episodes like his encounters with the Cyclops Polyphemus, the Sirens, and the witch-goddess Circe, culminating in his reunion with his wife, Penelope.

The all star cast….

Stars are keen to work Nolan who is something of a guaranteed hit maker now and here he has a cast that iincldues Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Robert Pattinson, Lupita Nyong’o, Charlize Theron, Benny Safdie, Elliot Page, John Leguizamo, Himesh Patel, Bill Irwin, Jon Bernthal, Mia Goth and Corey Hawkins co-star.

An IMAX first!

AS usual Nolan’s film is in IMAX and IMAX CEO Richard L. Gelfond has confirmed that the film uses uses never-before-seen IMAX technology in this film and the entire film has been shot on IMAX for the first time. The company developed new 70mm film cameras that are lighter and up to 30% quieter than the previous standard. Nolan has broken quite a few of these camera on previous films but this time he says, “I did not destroy an IMAX camera on this film. I have destroyed several in my time, but these ones survived The Odyssey.” Each IMAX camera costs approximately 500 thousand dollars, and at least 3 have been destroyed on a Nolan film.

“The Odyssey” will be released in cinemas on 17th July 2026 and is an epic three hours in duration
