The Twisted Childhood Universe expands….
Latest in the ever lengthening list of classic children’s icons turned into horror gore fests is Pinocchio with the release of the Pinocchio Unstrung trailer. It is the latest addition to the Twisted Childhood Universe, which includes Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and its sequel, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare and Bambi: The Reckoning.
The Pinocchio Unstrung trailer…
The story here sees Geppetto (Richard Brake) introducing his grandson, James, to a magical doll called Pinocchio. Unaware of his naïve nature, James introduces his new friend to the world, resulting in the doll going on a crusade to eliminate all things bad under the guidance of the sinister Cricket (Robert Englund).

Once again this comes from writer and director Rhys Frake-Waterfield (Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey) and producer Scott Chambers (Bambi: The Reckoning, Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare),and alongside Richard Brake (Barbarian) and Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street) is Cameron Bell in his feature film debut.
A few more facts…
The film is set to have its UK Premiere in June at this year’s Raindance Film Festival, where it’s been nominated for four awards, including Best UK Feature and Best Performance in a UK Feature for Richard Brake, the feature is a frightening new take on Carlo Collodi’s classic novel The Adventures of Pinocchio. As per the previous films in the franchise this looks to be another low budget, high gore film with a range of bloody, brutal and imaginative on screen kills…. by a puppet with all the facial emotion of a post botox top up Amanda Holden
