Director David Robert Mitchell gave us the excellent horror ‘It Follows’ followed by Under the Silver Lake but since then its been nine years since we have had a feature film from him and now we get a glimpse at his new film with the release of The End of Oak Street trailer
Starring Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella and Christian Convery the film a mysterious cosmic event that rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.
The film is written by David Robert Mitchell also and produced by J.J. Abrams, Hannah Minghella, Jon Cohen, David Robert Mitchell, Matt Jackson and Tommy Harper. The executive producers are Chris Bender, Jake Weiner, Joanne Lee and Leeann Stonebreaker. Mitchell’s team behind the camera includes director of photography Michael Gioulakis, production designer Maya Shimoguchi, editor John Axelrad, composer Michael Giacchino and costume designer Erin Benach.
The film was originally listed as “Flowervale Street” up until the teaser trailer dropped and Oscar Isaac was originally attached to the project but later dropped out and was replaced by Ewan McGregor.
THE END OF OAK STREET will be released in the UK and Ireland on the 14th August 2026
