News is that Austin Butler IS Lance Armstrong!
Disgraced Tour de France cheat Lance Armstrong having won the race a record seven consecutive times before he was then stripped of all his titles after a doping scandal was revealed. It was covered in the 2015 film ‘The Program’ which was very good but did little business. Well now there’s news of a film that would seem assured of a higher profile now its been revealed that Austin Butler IS Lance Armstrong or at least he will be in a new film to be directed by Edward Berger the director of “All Quiet on the Western Front” and “Conclave.

Producing will be Scott Stuber the former Netflix film chief who decamped for United Artists and has secured Armstrong’s life rights – the first time Armstrong has signed off on his life rights. He is currently nominated for the best picture Oscar for his work on Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein. Zach Baylin, the Oscar-nominated writer for ‘King Richard,” will write the screenplay for the Armstrong film. The package is creating quite a stir with some wild bidding going on from several of the major studios
Just how busy is Austin Butler…
Butler is proving to be extremely busy with his upcoming slate including the Michael Mann-directed Heat 2 (also produced by Stuber), Joseph Kosinski’s Miami Vice and Luca Guadagnino’s American Psycho film.
Did Armstrong ever rehabilitate his reputation?
Armstrong denied doping allegations for years until finally admitting to using performance-enhancing drugs in 2013. Since then he has rebuilt his reputation with support for cancer research after having been diagnosed with testicular cancer and went on to found the Livestrong Foundation which has gone on to raised hundreds of millions of dollars.
