The Rip trailer has landed…
Writer -director Joe Carnahan has several cracking thrillers to his name including Narc, Smoking Aces, The A-team and Cop Shop and his latest looks like another blistering actioner with the first look with the release of The Rip trailer. Regarding the title Carnahan explains, ‘The Rip is simply Miami cop parlance for ‘taking the bad guy’s stuff,’ which is known as ‘ripping’ it. In the event of a seizure of cash or drugs or weapons, the confiscation itself is known as the ‘rip.‘”
What’s The Rip trailer about?
Upon discovering millions in cash in a derelict stash house, trust among a team of Miami cops begins to fray. As outside forces learn about the size of the seizure, everything is called into question — including who they can rely on.
Who’s in it?
The film stars Matt Damon & Ben Affleck along with co-stars Steven Yeun, Teyana Taylor, Sasha Calle, Catalina Sandino Moreno, with Scott Adkins and Kyle Chandler. The Rip is the first collaboration between director Joe Carnahan and Ben Affleck (himself a director also).

About the film Matt Damon said, ‘“In Miami, you have to count the money on-site, so that everybody knows how much is there. They know that it’s almost certainly cartel money that belongs to very dangerous people who are probably going to come get it. They’re on the clock, and they have to start thinking of defending where they are because they can’t just leave.” With Ben Affleck adding, “It begs the question: What do you do when faced with this massive temptation? What does that mean? What’s it like to see that up close? And then also, who do you trust?”.
