The Odyssey trailer has landed….
It’s here! The much anticipated first look at Christopher Nolan’s , or should we say Sir Christopher Nolan’s new summer blockbuster with the release of The Odyssey trailer.
What’s in The Odyssey trailer….?
After the Trojan War, Odysseus faces a dangerous voyage back to Ithaca, meeting creatures like the Cyclops Polyphemus, Sirens, and Circe along the way.
Who’s in it?
Nolan is a director that every actor wants to work with and this new film stars Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Anne Hathaway, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal and Samantha Morton, Mia Goth, Lupita Nyong’o, Zendaya and Charlize Theron.
An IMAX first…..
Unlike his previous blockbusters this has been shot entirely with IMAX film cameras and was shot across the world using brand new IMAX® film technology. Nolan has long been a prominent filmmaker in advancing the use of IMAX technology in mainstream cinema, beginning with The Dark Knight (2008). For this film, Sir Nolan challenged IMAX to develop new 70mm film cameras that are lighter and up to 30% quieter than the previous standard. In response, IMAX provided new cameras that met the requirements, and Nolan is the first person in history to use them, shooting the film using them from start to finish.
Tickets…….
Nolan has made some huge films in the past but this is rumoured to be his most expensive at $250m. Pre-sale of tickets to IMAX 70mm screenings of the film around the world started on July 17th, 2025, exactly one year before the film’s release. This is the first feature film in history to have a pre-sale one year in advance. Frankly, we can’t wait!
The film brings Homer’s foundational saga to IMAX® film screens for the first time and opens in theaters everywhere on 17th July 17 2026.
