Spielberg is back!
Despite a couple of critically acclaimed films, West Side Story & The Fablemans, both flopped at the box office ($76m and $45m respectively) and the director returns to what is believed to be blockbuster territory with his new film. And yet no one knows what it is about! So what is the mystery of Spielberg’s summer 2026 blockbuster?

At the moment not even a title for the film is known although rumour has it that’s its called The Dish is IMDB is anything to go by. But that said the recent poster launch for the film saw mysterious electronic billboards for the film have begun popping up. No title, just ‘ the words. ‘All will be disclosed. Spielberg 6/12/26 and with the US penchant for swopping the date and month around means that the film is actually being released on the 12th June (and not the 6th December). Beside the words are an upside down eye and an eyebrow wuith what looks like a pale face surrounded by something black that could be anything – an extra-terrestrial? a spaceship? P Diddy? Whatever it is the poster looks a little menacing.
Who stars?
Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Eve Hewson, Colman Domingo, and Wyatt Russell lead the cast of the film, which is said to be a ‘two-hander’ with a UFO storyline.
What’s could it be about?
There’s been a lot of speculation about what the film is about with suggestions including a stealth legacy sequel to the director’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind. The film has been written by David Koepp who has worked with Spielberg films Jurassic Park plus Indiana Jones 4 & 5.
The truth is out there……
Frankly ‘All will be disclosed‘ suggests the full unredacted Epstein files but we’re grasping at straws here. Whatever it is the mystery of Spielberg’s summer 2026 blockbuster will be revealed soon
