With Bob Odenkirk having been so good as the crooked lawyer in Breaking Bad and later in the spin off series, Better Call Saul his move into feature films was assured. But no one expected him to be an action star with the bloody and brilliant, ‘Nobody’ and its sequel which was out at the end of summer. But now we have his latest action role with the release of the, ‘Normal, trailer.
Odenkirk plays Ulysses, a man who comes to the sleepy town of Normal to serve as the temporary sheriff after the passing of the original sheriff. A bank robbery in Normal leads Ulysses to find that a criminal underground reaches throughout the entire town.
Henry Winkler, Lena Headey, Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod co-star in the film. Ben Wheatley (“The Meg 2,” & “Free Fire”) directs and Derek Kolstad (“John Wick” ‘Nobody’) writes the film from a story Kolstad and Odenkirk created with the pair also producing. The film premiered at the Toronto Film festival to pretty to good reviews.
It opens in the US in April 2026 so a UK release date is likely to be around the same time
