With Steven Soderburgh’s Oceans trilogy starting in 2001 and ending in 2007 (and themselves a reworking of the 1960 Frank Sinatra brat pack film) its been almost twenty years and with the recent news of a new Oceans film ( Ocean’s 14 anyone?) here’s what we know so far…..
- George Clooney, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon & Julia Roberts are rumoured to be returning in some capacity
- The film will be a prequel
- Bradley Cooper joins the cast taking over the role that Ryan Gosling was originally slated to play and is set to star opposite Margot Robbie in the film.
- Cooper and Robbie are rumoured to be playing the parents of George Clooney’s Danny Ocean and Sandra Bullock’s Debbie Ocean characters.
- Benecio del Toro is rumoured to be the villain of the film with a shoot set to start in early 2026.
- The films title will be Oceans rather than Ocean’s 14
- Lee Isaac Chung (“Twisters”) is directing the project.
With the Soderburgh trilogy having earned over $1.1billion at the box office its likely that this fourth film might well launch another trilogy.
