Who is directing The Mummy reboot?
It worked for Brenda Fraser but not for Tom Cruise despite both if their versions of the classic Mummy monster being action films rather than horror. Well the latest Mummy reboot looks like it will be going back to its horror roots if director Lee Cronin is anything to go by after his chapter of Evil Dead was another excellent entry in that particular franchise earning $147m.
The Mummy reboot studio?
This reworking of the Universal favourite from the same studio alongside Blumhouse / Atomic Monster (director James Wan’s company) will be far smaller in scale described as being ire akin to the recent Wolf Man than the big budget blockbusters and is rumoured to be going by the name of The Resurrected with a synopsis describing it as…..
What’s the film about?
“After his missing daughter mysteriously returns eight years later, a father discovers she carries the spirit of an ancient Egyptian mummy, and as the evil spreads to his other child, he must perform a deadly ritual to save them, even if it means becoming the monster himself.”
Who’s starring?
The film has also been scripted by director Cronin and starring Jack Reynor, Laia Costa, Veronica Falcón, May Calamawy, and May Elghety. The movie recently finished filming with a release date expected to be 17th April 17th.
