French director Sebastien Vanicek debut feature, ‘Infested’ (2023) caught the eye of Sam Raimi and his team and was invited to helm the sixth film in the franchise, Evil Dead Burn’
The film picks up after the loss of her husband, where a the widowed wife seeks solace with her in-laws. As one by one they transform into deadites, she comes to discover that the vows she took in life – survive even in death.
In keeping with the previous films this was relentlessly brutal with no let up to the on screen carnage in what was the longest of all the films in the franchise to date. We got to chat with Sebastian in a riot pillaged Paris about the film and his first meeting with Sam Raimi, those one shots, censors, Easter eggs and THAT end credit scene
