The first Spiderman Brand New Day trailer became the biggest trailer of all time in 24 hours reaching 718.6 million views since launching on Wednesday according to market research firm WaveMetrix. It took just eight hours to top Deadpool & Wolverine‘s 365 million views from two years ago. (That number also included the 100-plus million who watched the Super Bowl on TV.) For comparison’s sake, the first trailer for 2021’s Spider-Man : No Way Home reached 355.5 million views in its first 24 hours. It went on to become the highest grossing film in Sony history with $1.9 billion globally. Avengers: Doomsday‘s recent quartet of trailers topped 1 billion combined views though that was cumulative over time, not just 24 hours. Well now the final Spider man Brand New Day trailer is here and gives more of an overlook as to where this latest film is going.
It’s a great trailer and one of the big changes is the onscreen dynamic with Jon Bernthal Frank Castle/The Punisher – a very different kind of relationship than he had with Tony Stark. Tom Holland explains:
“I am so excited for people to see Jon Bernthal as the Punisher in this movie. You know, he’s come from a very different world. He’s in the R-rated universe, and we’ve basically picked him up and plonked him into our world, and he absolutely sings in this movie. He is incredible……The relationship between Spider-Man and the Punisher is so funny, and it changed a lot, and it evolved a lot as we were shooting because Jon and I would improvise. It started as this relationship of two people that really kind of hate each other, I guess, and then as we started improvising, it became this big brother-little brother rivalry, and it might be my favourite dynamic that I’ve ever seen with Spider-Man.”
The film will be set around four years after the events of “Spider-Man: No Way Home”with Holland back again and who turns 30 in June
Spider-Man: Brand New Day” opens in cinemas on 29th July 2026.
