For American tourists at iconic sites in London the sickly tinkling tune of the ice cream man parked up nearby gives a sense of obligation to buy an ice cream from the swarthy sweaty tattooed geezer serving up who charges what he insists is a bargain price until a covert trading standards operation tells them that they’ve just paid £100 for what can best be called ‘cones of dysentery’ that will see them shortly make full use of the NHS. The Ice Cream Man trailer is not that film. Instead its the latest from horror schlock-meister Eli Roth.
What’s in that Ice Cream Man trailer?
The film is set in the idyllic summer town of Bayleen Bay, which descends into madness when an ice cream man serves kids from his truck with horrifying results. It’s a montage of scenes featuring a group of children descending into madness.
The film stars Ari Millen (“Orphan Black”) as the cones of doom deliverer along with Benjamin Byron Davis (“Guardians of the Galaxy 3”), Dylan Hawco (“Heartland”), Kiori Mirza Waldman, Charlie Zeltzer (“The Handmaid’s Tale”) and Sarah Abbott (Netflix’s “The Body”). Karen Cliche, Shiloh O’Reilly and Charlie Storey, who were in Roth’s prior slasher “Thanksgiving,” also appear in “Ice Cream Man.”
The film is the first from Eli Roth’s The Horror Section following the company’s launch in March 2025. As well as directing Roth also produces and co-writes the film with his long-time collaborator Noah Belson who appeared in Roth’s debut film, ‘Cabin Fever’. From the trailer this looks to have Roth’s trademark usual gore. Snoop Dogg will contribute original music to the film.
The film is released in the US on 7th August 2026 with a UK date to be confirmed
