We’ve had trailers for a few Sydney Sweeny films out recently and the latest to be released is The Housemaid trailer based on the bestselling novel by Freida McFadden.
The film plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems. Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sweeney) accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.
The film is directed by Paul Feig (A Simple Favour, Bridesmaids) who has form for helming female led dramas and comedies and this looks as deftly directed as his previous.
The film will be released in UK and Irish cinemas on Boxing Day 2025, and also stars Brandon Sklenar, Michele Morrone and Elizabeth Perkins.
