You might not be familiar with the film distributor Black Bear but over the past few years they have had a number of terrific films that have included Dumb Money, Ferrari, Origin. Immaculate, the superb Longlegs and the Oscar winning Conclave. Well landing in our inbox is their latest with the Relay trailer.
In Relay, Riz Ahmed plays a world class “fixer” who specialises in brokering lucrative payoffs between corrupt corporations and the individuals who threaten their ruin. He keeps his identity a secret through meticulous planning and always follows an exacting set of rules. But when a message arrives one day from a potential client (Lily James) needing his protection just to stay alive, the rules quickly start to change.
Directed by David Mackenzie, who made the Oscar nominated ‘Hell or High Water’ and written by Justin Piasecki the film costars Sam Worthington and Willa Fitzgerald.
Relay is released on 31st October 2025
