Monty Python’s Graham Chapman stars in, ‘The Odd Job’ – we go behind the scenes

After Monty Python split up in 1974 they all went  on to their own projects but for Graham Chapman it was to go it alone and take the lead in The Odd Job with David Jason.

Chapman starred as a neurotic husband  who, when his wife leaves him, hires an “odd job man” (David Jason) to kill him, but when she returns, he discovers that he is unable to cancel his contract with his would-be assassin. Read our disc review here

Graham Chapman co-produced the film with Mark Forstater who had also produced ‘Monty Python and the Holy Grail’ and we got to chat to him about what went on behind the scenes. So he told us about the loss of the original director at the last moment, the effect of Chapman’s drinking and the intention to cast The Who’s Keith Moon!
