The critically acclaimed, award-winning early work from horror auteur Ti West, one of the most prominent horror filmmakers of his generation, (here is introducing his recent film MaXXXine) gets a major makeover in a newly restored 4K version, approved by the director himself.
Described as ‘an old fashioned ghost story, The Innkeepers is set in the once-grand Yankee Pedlar Inn as it prepares to close its doors for good, two intrepid employees, Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy – Better Call Saul), decide to document the hotel’s legendary ghost stories during its final weekend. Armed with outdated recording equipment and a shared obsession with the supernatural, they tour the empty halls, hoping to capture evidence of the infamous spirit said to haunt Room 353. But as night falls and with only a handful of guests remaining, including retired actress turned paranormal expert, Leanne Rease-Jones (Kelly McGillis – Top Gun,), an eerie darkness starts to fill the old building. As strange sounds begin echoing from the basement and visions flicker at the edge of perception, Claire’s curiosity turns into a creeping dread. What begins as a ghost-hunting lark becomes a descent into real terror, as the line between myth and reality starts to blur. Will The Innkeepers make it out alive?
