Director Yorgos Lanthimos and actress Emma Stone have forged a cinematic partnership with a whole bunch of films that has seen Stone win her second Oscar for his 2024 film, ‘Poor Things’. We now get a look at their latest collaboration with the release of the ‘Bugonia’ trailer.
The film sees two conspiracy-obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
The film is an adaptation inspired by the 2003 South Korean film ‘Save the4 green Planet’ and initially, the original director, Jang Joon-Hwan was set to helm the project, working with American screenwriter Will Tracy on the screenplay. Due to health-related delays that prevented JJang’s continued involvement, CJ Entertainment, drawn to Yorgos Lanthemos distinctive directorial vision, appointed him to lead the project forward instead.
Alongside Emma Stone is Jesse Plemons and co stars Aidan Delbis, Stavros Halkias, and Alicia Silverstone with the film coming to cinemas in October 2025 right in the middle of likely award nominee season.
