We, like so many others, are big fans of his but it his last film was back in 2020 with the release of the sequel Borat Subsequent Moviefilm and Sasha Baron Cohen’s next film is currently being touted around the studios. The film was originally set for Universal studios to distribute but Cohen needed the film released in the run up to the 2020 US Presidential elections and the studio were unable to accommodate that a release date in that time frame and so it went to Amazon Studios where it had two Oscar nominations.#
This latest film project was delayed for over a year due to strikes by SAG-AFTRA and the WGA and the actor is now extremely keen for his next film to be released in 2026 having missed out on the 2024 US Presidential election.
At present little detail is know about his new film and it looks like Universal may noit be able to accommodate a 2026 release date due to a packed schedule that year which includes a slate films led by Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, The Daniels’ untitled follow-up to Everything, Everywhere All at Once, Shrek 5, the next Super Mario Bros pic, another Minions film and several others including product from Blumhouse. Hence the film being farmed around the other studios and rumour has it that Sasha Baron Cohen’s next film is attracting a huge amount of interest and we can expect a formal announcement soo.
