Leigh Whannell has a unique understanding of genre specifically horror having given us the excellent ‘Saw’ which is far more than just a gore fest when you re-watch and listen again to the rationale behind Jigsaw’s traps. Having reimagined The Invisible Man to brilliant effect and matching box office too (the film made $144m off a $7m budget!) he now takes in that other classic Universal monster, the werewolf. We got the opportunity to chat with the writer-director about his werewolf in ‘Wolf Man.

Starring Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner and Matilda Firth as a family at a remote farmhouse that is attacked by an unseen animal, but as the night stretches on, the father begins to transform into something unrecognizable. read our review HERE

This is the second reboot of a classic Universal monster after The Invisible Man and there has been rumours that the hoped for Monster-0verse that started with the Tom Cruise starrer The mummy that subsequent bombed might reinvigorate the series but on a much smaller budgeted scale

Leigh Whannell has a host of screen credits to his name that not only includes Saw (plus Saw 2 & 3) but also the five films to date in the Insidious franchise plus sci-fi film ‘Upgrade’ which is well worth searching out.
