Director Robert Eggers has made quite an impact with his visually distinctive films that have included The Witch, The Lighthouse and the excellent The Northman (do check that film out wherever you can) and now we get a glimpse at his long-gestating dream project with the release of the latest Nosferatu trailer.
The first trailer was attached to some copies of “The Bikeriders” so it is little surprise when ropey versions of the trailer recorded on an audience members phone quickly spread across social media. But after the first trailer was released back in June we now have a fuller version and it looks terrific
Bill Skarsgard, Lily-Rose Depp, Nicolas Hoult, Willem Dafoe, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Emma Corrin, Ralph Ineson and Simon McBurney star in the film inspired by F.W. Murnau’s legendary original 1922 feature.
The story is dubbed a gothic tale of obsession between a haunted young woman in 19th-century Germany and the ancient Transylvanian vampire who stalks her, bringing untold horror with him.
“Nosferatu” will open in cinemas on 1st January 2025
