Starring Diego Luna & Gael García Bernal their new series, ‘La Maquina’ that follows an aging boxer whose crafty manager secures one last shot at a title. But if they want to make it to fight night, they must navigate a mysterious underworld force and the boxer’s own ailing mind.
We invited along to a sneak preview of the series and it is huge fun play like a down and dirty version of Rocky with the two actors riffing off each other as they get themselves deeper in to a business corrupted by crime lords with the pair increasingly out of their depth. It’s a very entertaining series and well worth a look when its released on Disney+ on 9th October 2024.
This project reunites Gael Garcia Bernal and Diego Luna, who first co-starred in film in 2001’s “Y tu mamá también,” and have since collaborated on other movies like “Rudo y Cursi” and “Casa de mi padre,” as well as having a joint production company.
At the special screening we were invited along to Diego Luna & Gael García Bernal turned up to introduce the series and chatted about what we were about to see….and very entertaining they were too as you can see in the clip below.
