Trump tries to block the release of The Apprentice film…

With Donald Trump’s criminal trial drawing to a close in New York and a verdict awaited from the jury his tribulations continue further with controversial The Apprentice film first screened at this years Cannes festival. So unfavourable is the film’s depiction of him that Trump tries to block the release of The Apprentice film.

The films inclusion of scenes of Trump purportedly raping his late wife Ivanka plus a whole load of other less than flattering scenes where he is portrayed as ethically compromised, and a serial philanderer who has over contractors, abusing amphetamines to lose weight, as well as undergoing liposuction and plastic surgery and also cutting deals with the mob to get his buildings completed. Trump’s lawyers have sent a ‘cease and desist ‘ letter to the filmmakers instructing them but to seek distributors for the film.

The producers reaction has been to say, “The film is a fair and balanced portrait of the former president…….We want everyone to see it and then decide.”

As Trump tries to block the release, Steven Cheung, Trump’s campaign communications director hit back in a statement saying, “This ‘film’ is pure malicious defamation, should not see the light of day, and doesn’t even deserve a place in the straight-to-DVD section of a bargain bin at a soon-to-be-closed discount movie store, it belongs in a dumpster fire,”

At a press conference in Cannes for “The Apprentice,” director Ali Abbasi responded to Trump’s legal threats telling the journalists, “Everybody talks about him suing a lot of people — they don’t talk about his success rate though, you know?” he said. He also offered to screen the movie for Trump, saying, “I don’t necessarily think that this is a movie he would dislike.”

Frankly we can’t wait to see it and all Trump’s legal threats do is give the film more free publicity!
