Dune 3 news……

movie flex

With the release of Dune Part Two being postponed from its original November 2022 slot to 15th March 2023 ( a month that is proving to be very busy one for new releases) director Denis Villeneuve has hinted at some possible Dune 3 news saying, “If I succeed in making a trilogy, that would be the dream.” When pressed about this the director went on to say that, ‘there are words on paper.”

Frank Herbert’s Dune is a massive sprawling epic that expanded far beyond the one book with five sequels in total that included “Children of Dune” and “God Emperor of Dune” and after Herbert’s death in 1986, his son Brian went on to publish several prequel novels and sequels in the “Dune” universe. A third film is rumoured to be based on Dune Messiah that was ”written in reaction to the fact that people perceived Paul Atreides as a hero,” Villeneuve explained. “Which is not what he (Herbert) wanted to do. My adaptation [of ‘Dune’] is closer to his idea that it’s actually a warning.” But any third film would be the last for Villeneuve claiming that the book after that became more esoteric.

“Dune: Part Two” will continue the story of Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) as he teams up with Chani (Zendaya) and the Fremen to exact revenge on those who destroyed his family. In addition to Chalamet and Zendaya, the “Dune: Part Two” cast includes Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem Dave Bautista, Christopher Walken, Lea Seydoux and more. New castmembers include an albino Austin Butler as Feyd Rautha, whom Villeneuve has described as an “Olympic sword master crossed with a psychotic serial killer”; Christopher Walken as the Emperor; Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan Corrino; Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot; and Souheila Yacoub as Shishakli.
