Will Fast & Furious 11 or Fast Forever as its actually title ever going to happen? It’s intended as a two-parter to round off the multi billion dollar franchise and Fast X which was released back in 2023, though it made $704m, was a lower take than previous films and its spiralling cost put it at around $300m budget meaning it lost money. So is Fast Forever happening?
Vin Diesel recently announced that he had seen a script and it bought a tear to his eye but its only the latest in what has been a list of muddled messaging about this latest film with budgetary constraints, delayed start of production and different information about the film being leaked into the public domain. But what has leaked online are a number of rumours that are having fans wondering is Fast Forever happening at all?

The two rumours that have leaked are that there is no completed script and also that the studio are now looking for a new director which is sort of supported by Louise Letterier, who was rumoured to be directing, having said that he had not even seen the finished script that Van Diesel had spoken about.
The rumour of an incomplete script might be due to talk of the franchise getting some new blood that would see Diesel’s Dominic Toretto handing the reins over to a younger crew which would enable the franchise to continue anew – hardly surprising for a franchise which started back in 2001. The actor being mentioned for a handover is Charles Melton (“Riverdale” “Beef” “May December” )
Added to this is that the announced filming date for the new film which was to be early 2027 now wont be until early 2028 making the announced March 2028 release date impossible.
