‘The Beekeeper,” and then “A Working Man” saw action man Jason Statham and director David Ayers work together on consecutive films and both were hits earning $162m and $89m respectively. Well now news is in that Statham and Ayers reunite for a third film provisionally titled, ‘John Doe’.
Statham and Ayers reunite to make a story about….
Statham plays the title character essentially an unnamed man with no memory, no past, and no name but there is one face he can’t forget: Eliza. So as fragments of his identity slowly begin to return, he discovers he was trained for a mission that is still in motion and finds that he is being hunted by the very people who sent him. With enemies closing in, John must choose between finishing what he started… or protecting the one thing that makes him feel human: love.
The film has been scripted by blockbuster screenwriter Zak Penn (“Ready Player One,” “The Avengers”) and Ayer and his crew aim to start shooting in September for a summer 2027 release and in the likely event that its another hit then the chance that Statham and Ayers reunite again is high so we can expect carnage
Since making his mark in Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels in 1997 Statham has not stopped working bring out out last one film a year and sometimes appearing in as many as four and it seems unlikely that his rate will drop any time soon with The Beekeeper 2 and the final Fast and Furious film expected to arrive in 2027 and 2028 respectively and is one of the hardest working men in actions films with his own production company also and added to that he is married to supermodel Rosie Huntington Whiteley.
