We love a good true life war story about previously unknown episodes of bravery and hitherto secret military operations. Well the Pressure trailer is one such story about the decision to implement D-Day seemingly dependent on one person: a meteorologist.
In the seventy two hours leading up to D-Day, all the pieces are in place except for one key element – the British weather. Britain’s chief meteorological officer James Stagg (Andrew Scott) is called upon to deliver the most consequential forecast in history, locking him into a tense standoff with the entire Allied leadership. The wrong conditions could devastate the largest ever seaborne invasion, while any delay risks German intelligence catching on. With only his trusted aide Captain Kay Summersby (Kerry Condon) to confide in, and haunted by a catastrophic D-Day rehearsal, the final decision rests with Supreme Allied Commander Dwight D. Eisenhower (Brendan Fraser). With only hours to go, the fate of the war and the lives of millions hang in the balance.
A cracking cast sees BAFTA Award Winner Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Fleabag), Academy Award® Winner Brendan Fraser (The Whale, The Mummy) and Academy Award® Nominee Kerry Condon (F1: The Movie, The Banshees of Inisherin) and rounded out with Golden Globe® and Emmy Award winner Damian Lewis (Billions, Homeland, Band Of Brothers) in the role of Field Marshall Bernard Montgomery and Chris Messina (Air, Sharp Objects) portrays Irving P. Krick, Dwight D. Eisenhower’s trusted wartime Meteorologist.
The release date is at the beginning of what is traditionally considered the season when potential award winners are released and maybe this could be a contender.
PRESSURE will be released in cinemas nationwide from 9th September 2026
