Scream 6 saw a legacy character dropping out we now have the Scream 7 trailer which promises to correct this.
What’s it about?
When a new Ghostface killer emerges in the quiet town where Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) has built a new life. Her darkest fears are realized as her daughter (Isabel May) becomes the next target. Determined to protect her family, Sidney must face the horrors of her past to put an end to the bloodshed once and for all.
Who’s in it?
The cast sees the return of Neve Campbell (absent from the previous installment due to a pay dispute) & Courteney Cox (the only person to appear in all the films in the series) along with Isabel May, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Mason Gooding, Anna Camp, Joel McHale, McKenna Grace, Michelle Randolph, Jimmy Tatro, Asa Germann, Celeste O’Connor, Sam Rechner, Ethan Embry, Tim Simons and Mark Consuelos.

But its who is behind the camera that’s of most interest with the original screenwriter Kevin Williamson co-writing and for the first time directing the film too. This is the first film he’s directed in 25 years since ‘teaching Mrs Tingle back in 1999. Williamson wrote the script for the first, second, and fourth movies of the franchise. It was Kevin Williamson who convinced Neve Campbell to consider returning and Neve Campbell convinced Kevin Williamson to direct it.
A few fascinating facts!
This will be the 30th anniversary since the first film was released back in 1996. It was rumoured that Christopher Landon was originally set to direct no 7 but dropped out after receiving death threats over Melissa Barrera’s firing which he insisted was not his decision.
