With Wimbledon men’s final just finished it was a good time to announce a tennis movie from actor Timothee Chalamet. Except what has been announced is Timothee Chalamet’s table tennis film.
That film will be Marty Supreme about legendary American table tennis player Marty Reisman known for his flamboyant style and exceptional skill, Reisman started playing at a young age and quickly rose to become one of the most iconic figures in the sport, winning multiple national and international titles. Known for his unique and unorthodox playing style, which included a strong emphasis on spin and a distinctive forehand and backhand technique, he was a master of deception and could manipulate the ball in ways that confused his opponents.
Reisman played a significant role in popularizing table tennis in the United States and was also a promoter and ambassador for the sport.
As the actor recently completed filming on James Mangold’s Bob Dylan pic A Complete Unknown he is expected to start work on the new film soon.
