That Avengers Infinity / Endgame double bill remains the pinnacle of the MCU and since then the subsequent standalones have struggled most notably in 2023 which was catastrophic in terms of box office. Well now the latest Avengers 5 news has leaked.
The film has already had a whole load of writers work on the script and Michael Waldron is the latest who was working on both Avengers 5 and 6. “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” writer Jeff Loveness who was previously attached, and joined the project just weeks after director Destin Daniel Cretton departed the film. Well Waldron has now left quite possibly because his work on both films has finished and another screenwriter will be bought in for a script polish.
Whatever the reason there’s still time as filming doe not begin until March 2025 with a cast that is rumoured to include over 50 characters rather than focussing on the core Avengers.
Avengers 5 is set to be released on 1st May 2026.
