With the success of Knives Out back in 2019 earning $319m off a meagre $40m budget it was Netflix who swooped in and bought up future films from writer director Rian Johnson for a massive $450m. The first sequel Knives Out had a brief theatrical release before it was shown on Netflix and a third film is now about to go into production. Here’s what we know about Knives Out 3 so far….
- Rian Johnson and Daniel Craig return as writer -director and star respectively
- ‘Wake Up Dead Man : A Knives Out mystery’ is the films official title
- Release date is thought to be Autumn / Winter 2024
- Josh O’Connor (Challengers, The Crown), Cailee Spaeny (Priscilla, Civil War) and Andrew Scott (All of Us Strangers, Ripley, Fleabag) have joined the cast but far more big name stars are expected to be announced soon as per the previous films
- Rumours of a major star taking a pivotal role is expected to be announced soon
- Filming begins within the next few weeks
