Back in 2011 we were given the Indonesian film ‘The Raid’ (directed by Welshman Gareth Evans) and set a new standard for action cinema. Well it seems that with the recent release of Dev Patel’s ‘Monkey Man’ India may well be upping the ante once more with the release of the Kill trailer
When army commando Amrit (Lakshya) finds out his true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is engaged against her will, he boards a New Delhi-bound train in a daring quest to derail the arranged marriage. But when a gang of knife-wielding thieves led by the ruthless Fani (Raghav Juyal) begin to terrorise innocent passengers on his train, Amrit takes them on himself in a death-defying kill-spree to save those around him — turning what should have been a typical commute into an adrenaline-fuelled thrill ride.
This has a bit of a train from Busan vibe which is no bad thing and we are keen to see this after the trailer has whetted our appetite
Kill is in cinemas 5th July 2024 from Lionsgate UK
