Actor Ian Puleston-Davies is perhaps best known for his role as builder Owen Armstrong on TV’s long running soap drama ‘Coronation Street’ but he has an extensive career that has included roles in Hollyoaks, Holby City, Foyle’s War, Life on Mars, Waterloo Road and Silent Witness amongst many others. But he turned his hand to working behind the camera and as writer-director he has helmed his debut feature film, ‘Bolan’s Shoes’ starring Leanne Best and Timothy Spall.

The film follows childhood friends obsessed with 1970s singer Marc Bolan in Liverpool. A tragic accident changes their lives and years later, survivor Penny revisits the trauma at Bolan’s shrine, exploring childhood tragedy’s impact and music’s healing power.

We got the chance to chat with Ian about the film and specifically the era of Glam rock and about Marc Bolan, the fans, the music and the era
