Christian Bale always commits to his role whether it be losing a ton of weight for 2004’s The Machinist or putting on a ton of weight for Vice. But for his next film that is about to start shooting Christian Bale is Frankenstein and he’ll be saving his head for this one.
News of the project surfaced in August 2023 and it has been further revealed that that Maggie Gyllenhaal is directing and has gathered an all-star cast for her second effort in the director’s chair. Bale will star opposite Jessie Buckley, Annette Benning, Penelope Cruz, and Peter Sarsgaard.
The film was originally set up at Netflix before moving to Warner Bros. and is said to focus on Frankenstein’s pursuit of love. The logline follows a lonely Frankenstein who travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aide of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself. The two reinvigorate a murdered young woman and the Bride is born.
